Subject: Assistant Brewer Needed For New Brewery
Black Raven Brewing Company is a new brewery start up in Redmond, WA (Seattle). We are searching for an assistant brewer to come on board in January or February 2009. This is a fantastic opportunity to be a part of a new brewery dedicated to producing world class beer and provide top notch service.
Job summary:
Assist with brewery operations to include all aspects of the brewing process, wholesale delivery, and retail sales. Reports to head brewer.
Job duties:
* Assist the head brewer in day to day brewery operations.
* Deliver beer to wholesale and retail accounts if needed.
* Assist in sales efforts as needed and assigned.
* Work shifts in retail taproom as needed and assigned.
* Represent BRBC at events, festivals, and promotions.
Responsibilities:
* Produce and package world class quality beer.
* Provide top notch service to all customers.
* Assist in development and training of taproom staff as it relates to beer and brewery education.
* Represent BRBC in a professional manner at all times.
Qualifications:
* 1 year brewery experience, brewing education preferred
* Get it done no matter what attitude
* Absolute passion for brewing and beer
* Some retail/serving experience desired
* Positive attitude
* Ability to lift 55 pounds, move kegs, operate forklift
* Current WA drivers license with clean record (or can get one)
* Ability to work any shift at any time if needed
* Able to work well in a team environment
* Desire to learn, grow, and take on increased responsibility
* High School diploma or GED/some college preferred
* Ability to work overtime as needed

Odell Brewing Company, a 44,000 barrel growing regional brewery in Fort Collins, Colorado, is seeking a person to run and operate our one person QA/QC laboratory.
This person will be responsible for the precise and safe quality assurance of all beer from brewing through packaging. Duties include but are not limited to:
* Testing of raw materials to ensure standards are met
* Microfiltering samples of the beer and wort from the brewhouse, cellar, brite beer tank and package; reading plates; documenting results; and communicating results to production manager and brewers
* Propagating yeast; determining pitching volumes and source; communicating information with brewers
* Air testing of bottles, stability test bottled product, check CO2 levels
* Checking chemical concentration to ensure compliance with manufacturer recommended levels; establishing concentrations based on specific need
* Purchasing and preparing lab supplies, updating lab SOPs for training purposes
* Maintain safety program documentation and requirements
* Proactively seek procedures to evaluate beer quality
* Responsible for wastewater documentation requirements
* Brew house and cellar shift support
Bachelor's degree in laboratory science and brewery laboratory experience required.
