Greg Noonan has passed away
On October 11, Greg Noonan - founder of The Vermont Pub and Brewery and beer author - passed away in his sleep after battling cancer.
A homebrewer from the very beginning, in 1988 Noonan started Vermont's first craft brewery with his business parter Steve Polewacyk. The venue celebrated its 20th anniversary in late 2008.
Perhaps more important, however, was Noonan's writing. His most famous work was his first - Brewing Lager Beer: The Most Comprehensive Book for Home- and Microbrewers - but he also penned "Scotch Ale," "Seven Barrel Brewery Brewers' Handbook: A Pragmatic Guide to Home Brewing," and "New Brewing Lager Beer" over the years.
