The Keg Ran Out Club of Broomfield, Colorado invites you to enter our Great American Beer Challenge homebrew competition to be held in conjunction with the 16th Annual KROC World Brewers Forum. This is the event to attend after the Thursday night session of the Great American Beer Festival and is a Qualifying Event on the Front Range Homebrewer and Judge of the Year circuit. Homebrew entries will be evaluated by experienced judges and all entries will receive score sheets and comments. Ribbons will be awarded for the top entries as detailed below, as well as for a Best of Show. This year’s competition judging will be held at CB&Potts in Westminster on September 4th, and the awards presented at the World Brewers Forum on September 16th at the Marriott City Center, Denver, CO. Dennis O’Harrow of CB & Potts will also be selecting from the category winners to pair for the 2011 GABF ProAm competition.
Homebrew Competition Rules The Competition is open to amateur homebrewers age 21 or older. All entries must be handcrafted products made using private equipment by hobbyist brewers (i.e., no use of commercial facilities or Brew on Premises operations, etc.).
Last year's camp out was a success. Based on the repeated requests I've had regarding when we're doing it again, I'm pleased to announce August 27-29 as this year's RHBC camping trip We'll go back to the same locatation as before, which is a top secret camping spot. Directions will be provided to those who sign up - camping site is about an hour west of Colorado Springs. This is not a pay site and there are no amenties (showers/bathrooms) as those are for wussies.
Foam fest at the Colorado State Fair in Pueblo is on the 28th. There is a possibility of happy little hopper campers making a day trip to the fair then back to the camp site. Whether that happens or not depends upon interest of those going.
Suggested arrival is Friday evening, the 27th - however please feel free to just come down for Saturday. Pack up and return on the 29th. Please sign up below if you plan to attend so we can get a headcount.

"The Denver Rare Beer Tasting is all about beer passion and the love that both brewers and consumers have for this wonderful beverage," said Daniel Bradford, publisher of All About Beer Magazine, which presents the event. "The inaugural event last year was a huge hit and created a major buzz among both beer lovers and brewers who were in Denver for the Great American Beer Festival."
"We have pulled together a heavyweight line up of breweries that will each bring a rare, limited release brew to the Denver Rare Beer Tasting," said Rick Lyke, a prostate cancer survivor and founder of the Pints for Prostates campaign. "The brewers are generously raiding their private stocks to bring some incredible, exotic brews to the event. The reputation of the Denver Rare Beer Tasting spread rapidly after last year's success. More than 60 percent of the tickets have been snapped up prior to the announcement of this tentative brewery list - and we've still not released the list of beers that will be poured."
