The beer has spoken, and she is ready to be sipped and savored! After a year spent in zinfandel wine barrels in our barrel-aging cellars, Depuceleuse has matured and is primed to be bottled. Join us on Friday, April 2nd at the Avery Tap Room to celebrate the limited release of this sour cherry masterpiece! A 100% brettanomyces fermentation gives this brew lots 'o funk throughout, intertwined with pungent elements of sour cherries, delicate aromas of aged wood and a gentle spice thanks to the zinfandel barrels. Adventurous and true to the spirit of our Barrel-Aged Series of one-and-done brews, Depuceleuse is a forceful departure from the mindset of traditional beer style and features a harmony of intriguing flavors. Seductive to the core, she lies patiently in the bottle awaiting the day to deflower virgins of the flavors of that wonderful wild yeast, brettanomyces! Those who attend the release tasting will have the opportunity to purchase up to six bottles of Depuceleuse ($8.00 per 12oz. bottle) and sample up to 22 other Avery brews flowing from the taps. Similar to past releases in the Barrel-Aged Series, limited quantities of Depuceleuse will be released in Colorado and select states across the country in the weeks following the release tasting.

If you brewed the RIS please make sure you have a sanitized corney dropped off to the Kruegel's house (17508 Lamar Ct - Parker) by 5:00 on April 17th. You can contact Kelly through the website prior to the 17th to make drop off arrangements or just show up in person with your keg at 5:00. It is imperative if you are bringing your keg over on the day of that you not be late as once the barrel starts to get emptied it goes fast and we cannot delay for stragglers. If you have any concerns, just drop off your keg early. We'll have connectors set up for ball locks. If you have a pin lock keg you need to include connectors with your keg so we can access it.
If you brewed the BDS, essentially the same setup. Please bring it to the Kruegel's at 5:00 on the 17th, or make arrangements to drop it off before hand. Same as above, if you're coming on the day of, please make sure you're not late so we can complete the transfer smoothly. Connectors please for pin lock keg users. The kegs should be blanketed with CO2 but NOT CARBONATED.
For those who are able to make it at 5:00, after the transfer is complete we'll have a little celebration of the barrel party. I'll put out some snacks and if you'd like to bring beer with you to share, that would be lovely! Come to the hopyard build in the AM and party in the PM with the barrel!
Children are welcome at the Kruegel household (there is a park right behind our house and a 360 w/ rockband) so feel free to bring the family if you like.
