Well after much back & forth it's official we have a brewery tour lined up with Breckenridge Brewery 471 Kalamath @ 6pm. We have access to their Speakeasy Room and it's also their all you can eat Barbecue Ribs (til' they run out) night for 11 bucks!
-THIS IS NOT AT THE DOWNTOWN ONE-
Yes, I know it's on a Tuesday, but they do all their brewing Monday to Thursday and I wanted to make sure one of their brew crew would give us the tour. So there it is folks, see ya at Breck.
Love,
Izzy
P.S. still waiting on Dale from Oskar Blues to get back to me

Remember, you need to use the AHA's Registration Portal to enter the competition. You can pay online. Don't delay, though. There's a 750 entry limit for each region and the Old West Region had one of the highest amounts of entries in the contest last year.

This event is already on the calendar, but I wanted to let everyone know that we are officially registered with a Rock Hoppers booth to pour our beer alongside the commercial breweries featured in the festival. RHBC's beers will be eligible for the "people's choice" award which is the beer receiving the most votes from the attending public. I think this is a really great opportunity for the club and an opportunity to get more miles out of that NHC bar Greg slaved away building.
So, we need to get a signup going for beers to take to the festival. I would suggest beers in the 4.5-7% ABV range as there will be a lot of beer up there and this is an event for the general public, not a hall full of beer geeks. I believe the NHC bar has room for 7 taps, but we would like to bring at least 4 beers to represent the club. If you can make and donate a 5 gallon corney, please sign up below.
I also would like to get a head count on who will actually make the drive up to Evanston to participate. The event includes big wheel racing, so you know you want to go. Details will follow on setup and hotel logistics as I would expect we want to stay the night up there (approximately 4 hour drive). See the actual event posting for time, etc of the festival.

After two days worth of hard work with Greg (read, Greg did most of the work), our new tiered system is just about ready to rock and roll. A few coats of high heat paint and installation of a pump is all that is left to do. Attached are two photos to check out.
Drum roll......so, please mark your calendars for the first brew on the new system and our 4th wedding anniversary party (as the system was our gift to each other). On April 11th (anniversary is April 9th so we'll be celebrating it at the RHBC meeting) we'll be brewing an American Barleywine affectionately titled "Till Death Do We Brew."
Please stop by any time during the day to check out the new system. We will have snacks available and we will be breaking into the aging fridge and have several special commercial beers to share during the day as well. As always, children and significant others are welcome.
We'll plan the extra special tasting for 1:00 p.m.

Please sign up below ASAP so we can give Great Divide a head count.
From Jim Fixari, KROC President:
I'd like to know how many people from FOTR would be interested in attending so we can give a total head count to Great Divide. The last time we had about 50 people representing 7 different clubs from CO Springs to Cheyenne, WY.
I've been in contact with Taylor Reese from Great Divide, Bernie Taillon from FOTR, and Chad Pippin from Mile High Monks to get the word out and help organize the event. Great Divide will provide tours and give us a drink special. There is no food at Great Divide but lots of places around or you can have food delivered to Great Divide.
Liquid Poetry Contest
The Liquid Poetry Party taking place here at Wynkoop Brewing Co. on April 18th at 7pm (in the Mercantile Room).
The event will also feature beer-related readings and performances by Denver Poet Laureate Chris Ransick, Mike Henry, JD Frey, and Joy Sawyer, as well as beer-minded original music by Marty Jones, "The Bard of Beer Songs."
The event also features a special edition pint glass with original artwork and poetry by Chris Ransick. Proceeds from the sale of these glasses will benefit the Denver branch of Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic. Glasses are $5 while supplies last.
Hop Disciples meeting for April is on the 23rd, and we will most definitely taste some Stranahan's barrel-aged concoctions as well as other special beers-in-progress.
Time: 6:00 pm
Place: Great Divide Brewing Company Brew House...where the magic happens.
