Hop Barley and the Alers invite you to enter the 20th Annual Reggale and Dredhop Homebrew Competition to be held at The Falling Rock Tap House in Denver Colorado. The competition will take place on March 7\, 2009. We will accept all homebrewed beer and mead\, and this year cider\, too! This competition is sanctioned by the AHA and the BJCP. Again this year\, the Reggale and Dredhop will be a qualifying event for the Masters Championship of Amateur Brewing (MCAB). Ribbons will be awarded for the top three entries in each category as well as ribbons for the Best of Show Beer and Mead. We reserve the right to combine categories as necessary due to the number of entries. Prizes will also be awarded. All entries shall be handcrafted products\, containing ingredients available to the general public. Use of brew-on-premise or commercial facilities is not allowed. Yeast from commercial breweries is acceptable.
Come down and join us to \; see which Rock Hoppers took ribbons in this year's Dredhop contest.
We've got no less than 32 entries into this year's contest (that totals out to ~ 10% of last year's total entries)! Support your club brothers and sisters and have a few pints of\, well\, most any beer (your choices are pretty wide at the Falling Rock).

Remember\, you need to use the AHA's Registration Portal to enter the competition. You can pay online. Don't delay\, though. There's a 750 entry limit for each region and the Old West Region had one of the highest amounts of entries in the contest last year.

RHBC's beers will be eligible for the \\"people's choice\\" award which is the beer receiving the most votes from the attending public. I think this is a really great opportunity for the club and an opportunity to get more miles out of that NHC bar Greg slaved away building.
So\, we need to get a signup going for beers to take to the festival. I would suggest beers in the 4.5-7% ABV range as there will be a lot of beer up there and this is an event for the general public\, not a hall full of beer geeks. I believe the NHC bar has room for 7 taps\, but we would like to bring at least 4 beers to represent the club. If you can make and donate a 5 gallon corney\, please sign up below.
I also would like to get a head count on who will actually make the drive up to Evanston to participate. The event includes big wheel racing\, so you know you want to go. Details will follow on setup and hotel logistics as I would expect we want to stay the night up there (approximately 4 hour drive). See the actual event posting for time\, etc of the festival.
